SiNQUA Range of Solutions |

In April 2005 YP launched the SiNQUA Range of EPoS solutions
for Convenience stores, CTN's and Forecourts, Independents
and multiples alike. Uniquely as one integrated solution
YP can now offer immensely powerful yet incredibly user
friendly EPoS systems. Based on a Windows platform and
using the latest touch screen and database technologies
the SiNQUA range has something for everyone regardless
of size or budget. Unveiled at the P&H Pro-Retail
2005 Exhibition SiNQUA is quickly developing a reputation
as the best purpose written solution for this sector. |

Early 2005 also saw YP completely restructure it's
helpdesk services with targets to dramatically improve
telephone answering and response times. These were achieved
ahead of target and retailer feedback has been excellent. |

- The Forecourt Solution |
 |
This latest development combines retail back office
systems with point of sale fuel systems, providing forecourt
retailers with one single, effective solution to manage
all areas of their business. The system has been designed
to meet all the requirements of independent and symbol
forecourt retailers, integrating fuel retailing with convenience
retailing. The point of sale interface links flawlessly
to the back office system for automated stock control
and business management, reducing shrinkage and increasing
profits. |

YP Connect ISP service was launched, providing retailers
with a 'pay as you go' internet service with a free e-mail
account. Our ADSL/Broadband service is currently being
tested and will be rolled out later in the year. |

The new Symbol PPT8800 Hand Held Terminal was introduced,
replacing the discontinued Panasonic Hawk model. The Hand
Held Terminal has revolutionised stock handling and the
Windows-based PPT8800 has several advantages over the
previous model; it's PDA-style makes it easier to
use, and it has the ability to run multiple applications. |

- Sprint Vision launch and product range |

The latest model of Sprint EPoS was launched in April
2003. Sprint Vision showcases state-of-the-art features,
such as, Windows Back Office, TFT Flatscreen, Thermal
Receipt Printer, and Remote Access from home or office. |

The Sprint Vision EPoS system boasts many additional
features, making it the complete retail technology solution.
By 2003, YP's additional product range included the revolutionary
Hand Held Terminal, Shelf Edge Labelling package, CCTV,
the latest electronic scale link from Avery Berkel, Electronic
Funds Transfer credit card facility, Head Office systems,
and electronic order links and product file downloads
to most major wholesalers. |

- Further system enhancement |

For some years YP Electronics has worked closely with
Booker Cash & Carry to develop a wholesaler
link which allows customers to place orders electronically
with their wholesaler using their Sprint EPoS system.
This link is now in place. |
 |
Following months of research into a solution that would
facilitate the processing of credit and debit cards through
the Sprint till we were finally able to announce in April
of this year the creation of a development partnership
with Commidea, the market leader in card payment processing
systems. This new feature allows Sprint retailers to swipe
credit and debit cards through the card reader of the
Posiflex EPoS terminal. |

- Major company expansion |

YP Electronics moved to Paradigm House in Birstall,
Nr.Leeds to occupy two and a half times more office, workshop
and storage space than it did in Concourse House. |

A major expansion programme followed which saw the company
grow from 28 staff to 46 by the end of the year. Brian
Marshall retired and was succeeded by Ian Harris as Managing
Director. |

To improve the value of its service to existing and
potential customers YP launched various new free services
- Sprint User Group, Free Phone access to support and
extended (out of hours) helpdesk cover. |

- Palmer & Harvey acquire YP Electronics |

Palmer & Harvey McLane Ltd acquired YP Electronics
Ltd to allow P&H to improve its technology offering
to its customers whilst leaving YP Electronics free to
compete in the EPoS market. |

- Upgrades for Year 2000 (Y2K) |
 |
All existing YP Newsman and YP EPoS systems were upgraded
to Magscan or Sprint to ensure Year 2000 compatibility. |

- Sprint EPoS system launched |
 |
The Sprint EPoS system was launched as the latest in
a long line of updates. The Sprint Head Office systems
was developed for multi-site Sprint users. |

|

After unsuccessful attempts to integrate Magscan with
existing third party EPoS systems the YPEPoS system was
developed by ourselves and launched in November. |

- Magscan system was developed |

The Magscan systems was developed to replace YP Newsman,
introducing barcode scanning for the booking in of news
supplies. |
| 1988
- YP Electronics is created |
 |
A management buyout lead by Brian Marshall created YP
Electronics Ltd. The company left the Yorkshire Post building
and relocated in Concourse House in Leeds. The first IBM
PC compatible YP Newsman systems were launched. |
| 1981
- Yorkshire Post Electronics is formed |
 |
A new company Yorkshire Post Electronics Ltd was formed
to market, install and support YP Newsman systems and
distribution systems written for newspaper publishers. |
| 1979
- The first Newsman systems |
 |
The first YP Newsman systems were developed by the Computer
Department of Yorkshire Post Newspapers Ltd to control
newspaper delivery rounds and accounting for Post News
Shops Ltd (subsequently became United News Shops). The
systems were based on Northstar Computers - Z80 processor,
32Kb RAM and twin 180Kb single sided floppy disks. |
