The
ViRSA Rural Shops Alliance (RSA) is a national association
for village shopkeepers, and is supported by many key
suppliers, trade associations, rural community councils
(RCC's) and county councils.
The
RSA's objective is to support, advise and encourage
rural retailers to become more proactive and professional,
in order to optimise potential, and help encourage long-term
viability.
The
RSA also has an important lobbying/communications role,
to relevant organisations and all levels of government,
on issues of concern to rural retailers.
The
RSA was established in 2000 by ViRSA (Village Retail
Services Association). ViRSA is a charitable trust,
and has concentrated its resources , for the last 10
years, on assisting communities whose shop is in danger,
or has closed.
To
be a village shopkeeper is often a very isolating experience,
that's why YP Electronics joined up with the RSA some
two years ago and through the RSA we can communicate
to all its members nationwide explaining the benefits
of EPoS.
YP Electronics have worked on various
store projects one being published in the Independent
Retail News (May 2004).
